Job summary

Montgomery-Public-Schools is seeking an Exceptional Education Aide to support instructional and behavioral goals in the Hoover (AL) classroom. Under the supervision of a certified teacher, you will assist with small groups, adapt materials, and help implement behavior plans to help students access the curriculum.

The role requires at least two years of college and a preference for candidates with an Alabama Teacher's Certificate.

Qualifications

• Two years of college or higher education required, Alabama teaching certificate preferred.
• Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
• Ability to use current technology and assistive devices.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in classroom instruction and behavioral supports.
• Work with small groups to reinforce learning and behavior plans.
• Prepare instructional materials and assistive technology as needed.
• Help with supervision during lunch, field trips, and activities.
• Assist with feeding, positioning, lifting, or moving students when required.
• Follow district policies and state/federal laws.
