Job summary

Horizon High School is seeking an exceptional student ed paraprofessional to assist the professional instructional staff in providing supervision and educational support services that are an integral part of teaching.

Responsibilities include implementing services for students with disabilities, assisting other paraprofessionals, one-on-one tutoring, translating when needed, and supporting with attendance and program documentation under teacher direction.

Qualifications

• Holds a HS diploma or GED or equivalent and one of the following: associate degree; 48 college hours; or Para Pro passing score.
• Successful completion of STAR substitute teacher training within 1 year of hire.
• Knowledge of child development and ability to protect student confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Support professional staff in supervision and educational activities.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring and assist with daily living tasks as needed.
• Assist with behavioral plans and determine safe student positioning.
• Translate for students when necessary and accompany students on activities.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and documentation.
