Job summary

Hatboro-Horsham School District is seeking ESS paraprofessionals to supplement instruction under the direction of certified staff, assisting students, including those with special needs, to meet district and state standards.

This role involves supporting inclusive classrooms, helping with daily living activities, documenting student progress, and participating in IEP-related meetings and trainings. Candidates must have required clearances and certifications to join our team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• PA State Police Clearance required.
• Child Abuse Clearance required.
• CPR, CPI, and First Aid certified.
• FBI Fingerprinting completed.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to students attending inclusive regular education classes, assisting with modifications as directed by teachers.
• Assist students in activities of daily living and personal care skills, including mobility as needed.
• Follow behavior support plans as provided by teachers or staff.
• Escort students to lunch and events in school facilities.
• Promote a safe, orderly classroom and protect students, facilities and materials.
• Oversee students during bus arrivals/departures when needed.
• Document information on student needs, strengths, gains, and problems.
• Contribute to implementation of each student’s IEPs as scheduled.
• Communicate with teachers and staff about ongoing student needs.
• Participate in meetings to develop/update IEPs and Evaluation Reports.
• Attend trainings and update skills as necessary.
• Assist with administrative duties such as recording grades and preparing materials.
• Adhere to ESS and district policies.
