Job summary

Uwharrie Charter Academy seeks a dedicated 2nd/3rd Grade Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher to join our elementary team in Asheboro, NC. The role centers on delivering specially designed instruction, collaborating with general education teachers, and supporting students with IEPs in grades 2 and 3.

Ideal candidates will hold NC EC certification, have IEP experience, and demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills to manage a caseload under 20 students and engage families

Qualifications

• Must hold current NC EC teaching certification.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
• Strong knowledge of applicable special education laws and procedures.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple IEP timelines and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide specially designed instruction under IEPs for students with disabilities.
• Develop and monitor accurate IEPs and related documentation.
• Maintain caseloads of fewer than 20 students and collaborate with staff.
• Communicate regularly with families and participate in IEP meetings.
