Qualifications

• At least an associate degree or 48 credit hours completed.
• Pass WorkKeys or equivalent in-service training requirement.
• Completion of NC DOL Teacher Assistant Apprenticeship Program.

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Supervise students in various school settings and enforce policies.
• Prepare materials and adapt instruction under teacher guidance.
• Document progress toward IEP goals and maintain records.
• Support with attendance, classroom organization, and transportation duties.
• Provide physical assistance as needed and support therapists and teachers.
• Participate in professional development and related meetings.
