Job summary

Legette Blythe Elementary in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant to support EC students under supervision. You will assist with instructional activities, supervise students, and help implement IEP goals.

The position is a full-time 9-month assignment with school-based duties and occasional transportation support. Requirements include an Associate's degree (or equivalent), WorkKeys assessment, and prior EC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• WorkKeys assessment and 96 hours of in-service training required or preferred.
• Completion of NC DOL Teacher Assistant Apprenticeship Program encouraged.
• One year working with EC children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to laws, policies, and procedures governing the program.
• Assist EC students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, and gymnasiums.
• Prepare lesson materials and assist with classroom setup and displays.
• Participate in daily transportation duties and school events as needed.
• Document student progress toward IEP goals and assist with record keeping.
