ACCESSIBLE EDUCATIONAL SERVICE (BL-DABL-IUBLA)

The Support Services Coordinator oversees daily testing center operations, coordinates exam administration, manages student employees, and supports large-scale testing activities. This role ensures secure, efficient, and accessible exam delivery while maintaining staffing, scheduling, training, and compliance processes.

Department Specific Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of the Director of Accessible Educational Services (AES), the Support Services / Exam Coordinator oversees the daily operations of accommodated exam administration for Indiana University Bloomington.
  • Responsible for managing both day-to-day and long-term logistics of the accommodated testing center, ensuring the effective delivery of exam accommodations while maintaining exam integrity, operational efficiency, and compliance with institutional policies and federal accessibility requirements.
  • Supervises part-time student staff, coordinates closely with faculty and campus partners, and provides timely support for accommodated testing processes. Through careful planning, communication, and oversight, this role helps ensure that students receive approved accommodations in a consistent, equitable, and supportive environment.
  • Oversees daily testing center operations, including exam preparation, administration, scanning, recordkeeping, and secure exam handling.
  • Coordinates departmental and auxiliary testing by scheduling staff, communicating with faculty, and ensuring accurate exam materials and documentation.
  • Plans and manages final exam operations, including staffing, room assignments, student communications, and testing accommodations during peak testing periods.
  • Maintains job postings and recruitment materials.
  • Reviews applications, coordinate interviews, and manage hiring documentation.
  • Communicates with HR and campus partners throughout the hiring process.
  • Tracks applicant status and hiring progress.
  • Onboards and trains new student employees on testing procedures, technology, and workplace expectations.
  • Maintains training records and documentation.
  • Provides coaching, shadowing opportunities, and performance support.
  • Facilitates advancement opportunities and promotion pathways.
  • Creates and maintains student employee schedules.
  • Monitors attendance, timesheets, and workplace performance.
  • Addresses performance concerns, maintain personnel records, and implement improvement plans when necessary.
  • Manages employment transitions, promotions, and terminations.
  • Maintains accurate records in institutional systems and shared storage platforms.
  • Ensures adherence to testing policies, security standards, and accessibility requirements.
  • Coordinates with campus partners regarding employee access, permissions, and operational needs.
  • Supports continuous improvement of testing center procedures and services.
General Responsibilities
  • Provides administrative support for student testing services, instructional consulting, placement of student teachers and/or teaching assistants, classroom materials, course administration, and/or a variety of other educational support services.
  • Trains and serves as an informational resource for student teachers in terms of pedagogical practice, classroom management, and federal regulations like FERPA and Title IX.
  • Provides information to key stakeholders including students, faculty, and staff; documents procedures and participates in the development of relevant procedures.
  • Maintains relationships between department and other academic units. Maintains and updates contacts lists as appropriate.
  • Acts as a liaison for faculty, staff, and students, responding to and resolving educational resources issues as needed.
  • May work with representatives of student groups to encourage participation in services offered.
  • May provide training or guidance to student or temporary staff and perform occasional duties in support of other functions or business needs.
Education

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).

  • Bachelor's degree in education, public affairs, counseling, social work, business, or related field.
