Job summary

Anduril Industries in Irvine, CA is seeking a Director of Manufacturing Engineering for Electromagnetic Warfare (EW). You will provide strategic oversight and hands-on leadership to develop new products and scale high-volume production, ensuring rigorous processes, quality, and on-time delivery.

Lead cross-functional teams across design, supply chain, and quality to drive DFx, automation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
10+ years in manufacturing engineering and operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Experience owning manufacturing value chains for complex electromechanical hardware—defense/aerospace preferred.
Strong make-vs-buy, contract manufacturer management, and supplier development experience.
NPI experience and scaling production in high-growth environments with condensed timelines.
Hands-on capability in electromechanical hardware manufacturing (assembly, soldering, machining).
Knowledge of automation, advanced manufacturing technologies, and digital manufacturing tools.
Familiarity with ERP, CAD, PLM, FRACAS, MES; ISO 9001/AS9100 knowledge.
Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration; eligible for U.S. Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

Build & Lead the Manufacturing Engineering Team with capability across mechanical, electrical, system integration, and environmental testing.
Drive long-term manufacturing strategy and adoption of automation and digital tools.
Lead New Product Introduction with Design for Manufacturability emphasis.
Scale production capability and optimize supply chain, production, and test processes.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve yield, reduce cycle time, and lower cost.
Own the manufacturing value chain including tooling, vendors, quality planning, and documentation.
Manage budgets, staffing, and capital equipment planning for rapid scaling in classified environments.
Define cross-functional workflows with Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Production.
