Job summary

IU Health is seeking a Part Time EVS Lead for the North Hospital in Indiana. The role provides non-supervisory leadership and hands-on support to the Environmental Services team during the 3pm–11:30pm shifts with weekday and weekend rotation.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of relevant experience, with CHEST credentialing required for hires promoted after Oct 5, 2025; those hired before have 6 months to obtain it. Strong communication and safety compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience is required.
• CHEST credentialing is required for hires/promotions after Oct 5, 2025; those hired after have 6 months to obtain it.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals and techniques, spills and hazardous materials.
• Experience supporting department programs with minimal supervision.
• Ability to act as an extension of leadership to ensure reliability and compliance.
• Must follow hospital policies, safety protocols and cleanliness standards.
• Strong communication to lead peers and influence team performance.
• Must wear PPE and meet safety requirements.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, bend and lift 50 lbs+.

Responsibilities

• Provides non-supervisory leadership and frontline support to EVS team.
• Coordinates daily task assignments, training and onboarding new team members.
• Ensures readiness of supplies and equipment; performs quality checks.
• Leads shift huddles and cross-team communication across EVS.
• Maintains compliance with policies and safety standards during service delivery.
