Job summary

City of Pasadena Police Department is seeking a Property and Evidence Technician to perform daily intake, log and secure property, verify submission forms, prepare items for transport to laboratories, and intake items returned from labs. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid Texas driver’s license, and the ability to meet physical and vision requirements.

The position includes certification deadlines (within 1 year for the Texas program and 3 years for IA-EPT) and offers

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Texas certification as Property and Evidence Inventory Technician within 1 year.
• IAEPT certification within 3 years of employment.
• Qualifying education, experience, knowledge and skills must be documented on your application.

Responsibilities

• Daily intake of property from storage lockers and verify packaging and forms.
• Log conforming items into the property room and manage disposal or release.
• Prepare evidence for transport to laboratories and intake results from labs.
• Create disposal letters for courts and release property to owners.
• Maintain tickler files for proper return, disposal, and reporting.
• Produce statistical reports on property and evidence upon request.
