Job summary

Qualifications include a high school diploma, at least two years in police-related work or inventory control, experience with audio/video and digital media, and TAPEIT certification within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of police-related work or civilian-related fields such as inventory control, computer warehouse operations and maintenance of records and receipts.
• Prior experience in working with audio, video and digital media.
• Certification through the Texas Association of Property and Evidence Inventory Technicians (TAPEIT) within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Receive evidence items at the Police Department and ensure proper disbursement.
• Contact internal officers and related agencies with clear communication.
• Maintain records and tagging of evidence; understand evidentiary laws and procedures.
• Process digital media evidence and extract data from CCTV systems.
• Secure handling of valuables (money, jewelry, drugs) for court use.
