Job summary

Wheeler Clinic in New Britain, CT seeks an Intervention Specialist to facilitate curriculum-based group and individual services for adults in the criminal justice system. Training and QA are provided, with emphasis on motivational interviewing and evidence-based practices to improve outcomes and reduce recidivism.

The role supports reporting outcomes to court/probation/parole and requires two evening shifts as part of a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, plans, and facilitates individual and group sessions with fidelity to curriculum.
• Engages clients and addresses anti-social thinking and behavior with concrete alternatives.
• Uses motivational interviewing and CBT approaches to support behavior change.
• Conducts client intakes, assessments, and ISPs within established timeframes.
• Provides case management, community linkages, and transition planning.
• Documents activities accurately in agency and funder data systems.
