Job summary

Wheeler Clinic seeks an Intervention Specialist in Middletown, CT to facilitate evidence-based curriculum-based group and individual services for adults in the criminal justice system. You will use motivational interviewing and strengths-based techniques to support program completion and reduce recidivism.

This full-time position requires two evening shifts and reports client outcomes to court/probation/parole.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree is required.
• Excellent work habits and timely, professional performance.
• Ability to work on a team to meet program goals and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, plans, and facilitates individual and group sessions per curriculum.
• Engages clients and addresses antisocial thinking and behavior.
• Uses motivational interviewing and CBT approaches for behavior change.
• Conducts intakes, assessments and ISPs, and provides case management.
• Monitors client behavior and supports motivation to change.
• Participates in quality assurance activities and trainings.
