Job summary

Northwest Bible Church in Dallas, TX is seeking a part-time Facilities/Events assistant to prepare spaces for church events, assist with setup, and support campus operations on Sundays and some evenings.

You will work with the Facilities Manager, help with security, lighting, basic AV setup, and collaborate with team members to provide friendly, customer-focused service while handling custodial tasks and occasional on-site emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Must read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up spaces for church events, including tables, chairs, beverage stations, and other tasks as requested.
  • Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service during events.
  • Communicate with the team and assist co-workers; follow up with event leader as needed.
  • Unlock and lock all doors for scheduled events.
  • Monitor campus for safety and report suspicious activity to the Events/Facilities Manager.
  • Respond to emergencies per Emergency Action Plan procedures.
  • Secure interior doors and turn off lights in unoccupied buildings.
  • Complete routine and non-routine custodial tasks.
  • Note and report issues to supervisor; submit daily activity reports if required.
  • Set up basic AV equipment (projectors, laptops, screens, mics).
  • Assist in other areas including custodial and light maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Follow event set up instructions to prepare spaces for church events, including but not limited to arranging tables and chairs, preparing beverage stations, and completing other set up tasks as requested.
  • Provide customer service for all events – every effort should be made to meet any needs in a courteous, friendly and efficient manner, while not compromising smooth campus operation or policy.
  • Communicate with other team members in a positive and appropriate manner. Assist co-workers as needed. Follow up with event leader for arising needs.
  • Unlock and lock all doors for scheduled events.
  • Monitor campus for safety by reporting suspicious people, vehicles, and situations to Events and Facilities Manager.
  • Respond to emergencies according to Emergency Action Plan procedures.
  • Secure interior doors and turn off lights of unused buildings as they become unoccupied.
  • Complete assigned routine and non‑routine custodial tasks.
  • Note all security, maintenance, custodial, schedule and equipment issues. Report these issues in an appropriate and timely manner to the supervisor.
  • Submit a daily activity report or task checklist as needed.
  • Setup basic audio and visual (AV) equipment such as projectors, laptops, screens, and microphones.
  • Assist in other areas as needed, including but not limited to, custodial and light maintenance.
Qualifications and Requirements

This is necessary to accomplish the Church’s religious mission, goals, and purpose.

  • Exhibit a growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and as Lord, and agree with the doctrinal statement of Northwest Bible Church.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting and moving heavy items. Must be capable of sustaining heavy lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be comfortable working in a large facility at night, sometimes alone.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other team members. Effectively communicating with team members and supervisor to ensure smooth operations.
  • Willingness and ability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Welcoming, approachable and customer-oriented attitude. Prior experience in customer service is preferred.
