Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking a Conference Services Attendant for a full-time role at SAP - 3410 Hillview Avenue, Palo Alto, CA. The position runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm with overtime opportunities.

You will support events by setting up rooms, assisting with AV, and providing reception relief as needed. Ideal candidates have prior customer service or hospitality experience, can lift up to 50 lbs, and are proficient with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or houseman/porter experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Moves and places tables, chairs, and other items for each event in meeting and training rooms.
• Sets up items not included in the room (flipcharts, whiteboard, screens, etc.).
• Assists with conference room readiness to determine that the rooms are equipped with items.
• Provides prompt and detailed service as scheduled by management or by request.
• Maintains consistent phone and email communication with clients, guests, team members, and support departments.
• Offers assistance to clients and visitors throughout the building, including providing directions and escorting to conference rooms.
• Communicates with co-workers and service partners to ensure updated information is shared.
• Provides recommendations to planning managers regarding appropriate room setups.
• Conducts weekly site inspections of meeting rooms and contacts the necessary department if items require service.
• Assists with basic audio visual equipment, as needed.
• Maintains inventory of all supplies and notifies supervisors when additional supplies are needed.
• Provides relief reception duties to cover for breaks, lunches, call outs and occasional vacation coverage.
• Greet guests and check in via visitor kiosk
• Provide directional guidance to guests and visitors
• Communicate with reception team via email and chat
• Provide hospitality and customer service
• Other reception tasks while at desk
• Performs other duties as assigned.
