Job summary

The North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce is seeking an entry-level Programs & Events Intern to help plan and run networking events, signature programs, leadership initiatives and workshops across our region.

You’ll work directly with the Events & Programs Manager, gaining hands-on experience before, during and after each event. This paid internship is ideal for a student who is organized, outgoing and eager to learn.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Clear, friendly written and verbal communication skills, including comfort talking with members, guests and vendors.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, both independently and as part of a team.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
• Reliable transportation to our Fitchburg office and off-site events, plus availability for occasional early morning and evening events.
• Comfort with event setup and breakdown, which involve standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds.
• Alignment with the Chamber’s values of integrity, excellence, focus, catalytic leadership, inclusion and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare events, including networking programs, workshops and meetings.
• Coordinate details with venues, vendors and speakers, including room setup and catering.
• Manage registrations and communications, track attendee lists and send confirmations.
• Promote chamber events via social media, calendars and outreach.
• Handle day-of-event setup, check-in and support for speakers and sponsors.
• Follow up with post-event surveys and feedback, and research future ideas.
