Job summary

German American Chamber of Commerce in Chicago, IL, seeks a Manager of Events & Membership to plan and execute conferences, receptions, and signature events that connect German and American businesses across the Midwest.

The role reports to the Director of Marketing, Membership & Events and collaborates with internal teams to grow membership and engagement. Occasional travel and evenings/weekends are required; a bachelor’s in a related field is preferred, with 3–5 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or demonstrated success in event management or memberships fields.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills are required.
• Experience with budgets, contracts, invoicing, and CRM systems is expected.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute GACC Midwest events including logistics and speaker prep.
• Develop event strategies to engage members and drive attendance.
• Manage budgets, contracts, invoicing, and payments for events and memberships.
• Collaborate with Membership and Marketing teams to promote initiatives.
• Gather feedback and prepare performance reports for events and membership activities.
• Mentor interns and supervise junior team members.
