The Capitol District Marriott in Omaha is seeking an Events Manager to lead client communications, coordinate event details, and prepare impactful documentation to drive successful gatherings. You will collaborate with sales and operations to ensure accurate execution and superior guest experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college degree in hospitality, business, event management, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent hotel sales or event planning experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Serve as main point of contact for clients and guests, answering inquiries and providing exceptional service throughout event planning.
• Coordinate and manage event details with clients, documenting changes and communicating them promptly.
• Prepare and distribute event documentation (BEOs, resumes, client correspondence) for successful execution.
• Maintain event management and sales systems with accurate records of communications and requirements.
• Act as liaison between clients, sales, and operations to ensure proper execution of event specs.
• Assist in planning and booking meetings and events, supporting revenue opportunities.
• Resolve client concerns and operational issues balancing guest satisfaction and profitability.
• Maintain knowledge of hotel meeting spaces, capacities, setups, and turnaround times.
• Support client retention through proactive follow-up and post-event communication.
• Attend meetings, maintain records, adhere to standards, and take on special projects as needed.
