Job summary

The Omaha Marriott at the Capital District, part of Marcus Hotels & Resorts, is seeking an Events Manager to join our downtown Omaha team. You will coordinate client communications, manage event details, and ensure flawless execution of meetings and banquets in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; a hospitality/event management degree is preferred.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with professional communication.
• Proficiency in Word/Excel; familiarity with Marriott systems (CI/TY) preferred.
• Excellent organizational and multi-project management abilities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for clients and guests during event planning.
• Coordinate event details with clients and staff; document changes promptly.
• Prepare and distribute BEOs, resumes, and client communications.
• Maintain event management and sales systems with accurate records.
• Act as liaison between clients, sales managers, and operations.
• Assist in planning and booking meetings and revenue opportunities.
• Resolve client concerns with sound judgment while balancing guest satisfaction.
• Know hotel meeting spaces, capacities, turnaround times, and services.
• Support client retention with post-event follow-up and special requests.
• Attend required meetings and maintain departmental records.
