The Westin Jekyll Island is seeking a Full Time Events Manager to lead bookings, planning, and execution of weddings, meetings, and social events on Jekyll Island. You will collaborate with internal teams and external managers to ensure flawless delivery and strong community presence.

Key focus includes overseeing catering sales, coordinating with operations, and elevating guest experiences at a premier oceanfront resort.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1–2 years experience in event management.
• Or a 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; at least 1 year experience in event management.
• A strong background in catering sales with solid food and beverage knowledge is essential.
• Effective communication and organizational skills are crucial for coordinating with internal teams and partners.
• Time management to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines while delivering memorable events.

Requirements

To thrive as the Full Time Events Manager at The Westin Jekyll Island, you'll need a diverse skill set that highlights your expertise in event management and coordination.

• High school diploma or GED; experienced (1 - 2 years of experience) in the event management or related professional area.

OR

• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; at least 1 year experience in the event management or related professional area required.
• A strong background in catering sales paired with solid food and beverage knowledge will be essential for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Effective communication skills are crucial for collaborating with both internal teams and external partners, while your organizational skills will help keep all events running smoothly.
• Time management will be your best friend as you juggle multiple tasks and deadlines, allowing you to prioritize effectively. Bring your passion for hospitality and a knack for creating memorable moments, and you'll be well on your way to making a lasting impact in our vibrant community!
