Store - LANSING-DELTA TOWNSHIP, MI
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids' birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop at our store and find what they’re looking for. Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience. Complete operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards as needed to deliver our Brand Promises.
Event Coordination
- Plan and coordinate multiple events simultaneously, including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
- Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, creating an environment of fun and creativity.
- Demonstrate and instruct craft projects, perform face painting, and other activities.
- Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons according to company standards.
- Communicate event details with clients and store team members.
- Complete administrative tasks like answering emails, making calls, and completing paperwork.
- Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs.
- Create backup or emergency plans as needed.
- Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
- Maintain store cleanliness and safety standards, including setup, cleanup, and breakdown of events.
Customer Experience
- Assist customers with shopping, locating products, and providing solutions.
- Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience.
- Engage customers about Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards, and assist with enrollments.
- Educate customers about Voice of Customer (VOC) surveys.
- Support Omni channel processes like BOPIS and SFS.
- Participate in truck unloads, stocking, and planogram processes.
- Perform merchandise recovery and store maintenance.
- Support Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties.
- Support shrink and safety programs.
- Adhere to SOPs and company policies, ensuring legal compliance.
- Promote a respectful, positive environment and serve as a role model.
- Cross-train in Custom Framing sales and production.
- Participate in daily store cleanliness activities.

- Retail and/or customer service experience required.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Mobility throughout the store.
- Regular bending, lifting, reaching, and stretching.
- Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves.
- Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
