The Jewish Museum of Maryland (JMM) seeks a part‑time Events Coordinator to join a team that deeply appreciates the role of museums in building community, exploring identity, and activating Jewish values. The position reports to the Director of Public Programs and provides essential administrative and logistical support across all stages of program planning and delivery.
The hourly rate for this part‑time position is $29.00, based on a sixteen‑hour work week. Work schedules are developed in collaboration with supervisors and typically involve three or four days per week. The position includes 48 hours of vacation (representing three standard work weeks) and 28 hours of sick time (representing 1.75 standard work weeks) per year. Vacation and sick time are only applied toward established work schedules.
JMM staff are unionized within Teamsters Local 355 and this is a bargaining unit position. The Museum is closed for the following Jewish holidays when they fall within business hours: Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, the first two days of Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret, Simchat Torah, Shavuot, and the first and last two days of Passover. It is also closed for New Years Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and the day following Thanksgiving.
