Job summary

Biltmore is seeking an Event Work Crew 3 to lead specific high-trained areas such as tent installation, deliveries, power/lighting, warehouse coordination, and exhibition staff. This role reports to the Event Supervisor and collaborates with other leads to complete weekly orders with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, keeping the workspace clean and safe, and supporting leadership and departments as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in event setup and logistics preferred.
  • Commitment to world-class guest service.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail with focus on quality, service and safety.
  • Solid time management and organization; ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to follow directions and execute instructions.
  • Proactive with good judgment; able to troubleshoot.
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced guest service environment.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be at least 19 years old.
  • Leads by example and provides clear direction to others.
  • Basic math skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Keep warehouse and shop clean, safe, and organized.
  • Load and unload orders weekly; complete warehouse and vehicle checklists.
  • Assist with Estate Exhibition and Special Event installation/strike.
  • Basic knowledge of household or commercial power; follow safety procedures when working with power or lighting.

Job description

Job Description Event Work Crew 3 will serve as primary "lead" of specific higher trained areas such as Tent installation, Deliveries, Power/Lighting, Warehouse Coordination, Exhibition staff, or Cross utilization between both event departments. This position will report daily to the Event Supervisor while working with the other lead positions on completing weekly orders and task with minimal supervision. Other duties include being responsible for loading and unloading trucks, cleaning and repairing equipment, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and exhibition installation/strike. In addition, the incumbent will provide general assistance and support for leadership, the department, and the company as needed.

Essential Job Duties
  1. Plan upcoming event needs with EL and/or SES Supervisor.
  2. Maintain event inventory control (both delivered and returned).
  3. Responsible for ensuring inventory is in good condition and available for rental. Must ensure all safety procedures are met.
  4. Ensure the warehouse/shop is clean, safe, and organized.
  5. Loading and Unloading orders each week. Completing Warehouse and vehicle checklist as required.
  6. Estate Exhibition/Special Event Installation/Strike.
  7. Basic knowledge of household/commercial power is preferred. Must follow safety procedures when working with power or lighting.

  7. Ability to take direction and understand and execute instructions successfully.
  8. Proactive, and exercises good judgment; can troubleshoot as needed.
  9. Can operate effectively in an intense and dynamic guest service environment, and respond/interact with guests and vendors in a manner consistent with Biltmore standards.
  10. Must have a valid driver's license and be at least 19 years of age.
  11. Leads by example and provides clear direction to others.
  12. Basic math skills are required.
Physical Requirments
  1. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds on a regular basis with assistance.
  2. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
  3. Ability to climb, and work from, ladders, lifts, stairs, and/or scaffolding.
  4. Ability to reach overhead, bend and squat/kneel often.
  5. Ability to work effectively (indoors & outdoors) with exposure to dust, dirt, foul odors, extreme temperatures and/or weather conditions, using the proper safety and protective equipment.
  6. Must be able to work for extended periods of time from elevated heights.
