Job summary

Biltmore Workforce Management seeks reliable Special Events - Work Crew members to support illumination, concerts, exhibitions and other events in Asheville. You will help set up and break down equipment, load and unload trucks, and assist with rigging and power connections.

This on-site role requires attention to detail, good communication, ability to follow directions, and a valid driver's license. Physical effort includes lifting up to 50 pounds and working in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 1 year of event/exhibit setup and illumination experience preferred.
• Strong guest service mindset and clear communication skills.
• Attention to detail, safety, and quality are essential.
• Ability to multi-task, manage time and follow directions.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be at least 19.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup and breakdown of events (illumination, exhibits, etc.).
• Safely operate a box truck and power equipment up to 20 amps.
• Load/unload and stage equipment; maintain warehouse areas.
• Rig and handle decor up to 25 lbs; ensure quality per orders.
• Provide friendly, professional service to guests and internal customers.
• Follow work orders, emails, or directions from supervisors.

Job DescriptionThe Special Events - Work Crew - 2 position primarily assists in the setup andbreakdown of Biltmore events such as illumination, concerts, exhibitions, corporate events etc. during peak event seasons to help create a world class experience for guests.Duties include, but are not limited to landscape & structure illumination, equipment delivery and setup, loading and unloading trucks, warehouse maintenance, and exhibition setup/strike/maintenance.Position may also provide general assistance and support to the department, leadership, and the company as requiredEssential Job Duties:1. All that are detailed in and for Special Events Crew 1, and …2. Properly and safely operate a box truck.3. Provide friendly, professional service to internal customers and guests.4. Setup rental equipment and test/ensure quality matches company expectations upon arrival.5. Must be able to understand and execute direction given from a workorder, email, phone, etc.6. Rigging items that are 25lbs and under such as small chandeliers, bistro lighting, and other decor.7. Running and connecting power requirements up to 20 amps.8. Safely operate a warehouse forklift.9. Safely operate a scissor and/or boom lift (single basket) up to a 30’ electric machineQualifications:1. High school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred.2. At least one (1) year of prior experience working with event and/or exhibit set up and illumination preferred.3. Demonstrated commitment to providing world class internal/external guest service.4. Solid interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills; must be able to convey information clearly and concisely.5. Excellent attention to detail with focus on quality, service, and safety.6. Maintain a valid driver's license and must be at least 19 years of agePhysical Requirements: Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds on a regular basis with assistance.2. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time.3. Ability to climb, and work from, ladders, lifts, stairs, and/or scaffolding. Must be able to work for extended periods of time from elevated heights.4. Ability to reach overhead, bend and squat/kneel often.5. Ability to work effectively (indoors and outdoors) with exposure to dust, dirt, foul odors, extreme temperatures and/or weather conditions, using the proper safety and protective equipment.
