Don Strange of Texas Catering is seeking energetic catering event staff to support off-site events in San Antonio. You will assist with loading, setup, food preparation, serving, bartending and cleanup while maintaining high guest service standards.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to multitask and adapt to changing event needs, with flexible hours including weekends. Training and certifications in food safety are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to communicate with guests, management and teammates.
• Experience in food service and bartending preferred.
• Knowledge of event service techniques and banquet/bar workflows.

POSITION TITLE: CATERING EVENT STAFF - PART TIMEREPORTS TO: Event SupervisorSUMMARY OF POSITIONDon Strange of Texas Catering Event Staff and Bartenders are energetic an innovative. As a member of our catering event staff, you will help us maintain our brand-to-client experience. The Event Staff is responsible for executing all aspects of the event: loading and transporting equipment to and from off-site event locations, setting up equipment and décor, preparing, cooking and serving food, provide bartending services, and clean up.EXPECTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESFollow the direction of Supervisors and other production staff to institute event needs and expectationsMaintain and understand all equipment needs for events off site useFollow lists of equipment and assist with managing inventoryExecute all aspects of banquet and bar service which include, but are not limited to: buffet set-up, bussing techniques, and correct table settingsMaintain consistent high-level service throughout all phasesExecute back of the house, front of the house, and side work duties for overall productivity of events as assigned, while displaying a sense of urgencyDisplay knowledge of food presentation, menus, and food service techniques with guest service in mindPerform strenuous manual labor as required (equipment storage, loading, setup, breakdown of tables and chairs)Support placement, movement, and storage of rental orders, catering and bar itemsMaintain a friendly and approachable attitude towards clients, guests, and staffCommunicate clearly and openly with leaders for overall success, adjusting appropriately to any issues that ariseUphold a professional, neat and clean appearance and mannerismsPerform other incidental and related duties as requestedTrash and event clean up and handlingDuties may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without noticeSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSAbility to communicate effectively with guests, associates and managementStrong interpersonal and communication skillsFood service and bartending service experience, preferredEvent industry, catering, cooking, and/or fine dining experience is a plusAbility to multitask and make split second analytical problem-solving decisionsExcellent organizational skills, time management, accountability and attention to detailReliable transportation to/from workKnowledge of different service techniques and bartending experienceAbility to work nights, weekends, and some holidaysA valid Texas driver’s license and proof of valid auto insurance, preferredAbility to drive company trucks and vans (CDL not required), preferredEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSCurrent TABC certificationCurrent ServSafe certificationPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to stand for long periods of time, reach, bend, and stoopAbility to frequently lift up to 50 poundsAbility to work outsideDETAILSFlexible scheduling and an energized environmentCompetitive weekly pay with advancement opportunitiesStarting pay is $16.00-$18.00 hourly, based on experience and qualificationsWorkday meals (most days)This is a part-time, event-based position.
