Job summary

LAZ Parking is seeking an Event Staff member in Knoxville to greet customers, direct traffic, and support event operations. The role involves outdoor work, standing for long periods, and frequent interaction with event management and attendees.

Shifts are part-time and vary with events. A $150 bonus is offered for those who work all games, and a uniform is provided. Applicants should be reliable, customer-focused, and able to work in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service experience preferred.
• Parking industry experience is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience working in outdoor/extreme weather conditions is preferred.
• Some positions may require a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet each customer with courtesy and great customer service.
• Direct vehicular traffic within parking facilities.
• Communicate with event management and traffic control during the event, and before/after if necessary.
• Drop, move, and pick up parking equipment (cones, barricades, signs, etc.).
• Understand surroundings and event details to answer questions.
• Accurately distribute tickets (proof of purchase) to each customer.
• Expedite traffic flow in a timely fashion.
• Adhere to dress code; Uniform polo, black pants/shorts, sneakers in uniform colors.
• Work outside in any weather and be on your feet for extended periods.
• Work the majority of the event season; events on days, nights, weekends, holidays.
• Follow all safety standards and communicate with management.
• Will be expected to take direction from Managers and emergency responders during emergencies.
• Additional duties as assigned.

The Spirit Of The Position

The Event Staff members are the front-line personnel responsible for greeting, engaging, and interacting with all customers attending events.

Principal Job Duties

• Meet and greet each customer with courtesy and great customer service.
• Direct vehicular traffic within parking facilities.
• Communicate with event management and traffic control during the event, as well as before and after the event if necessary.
• Drop, move, and pick up parking equipment (cones, barricades, signs, etc.), as required.
• Understand the surroundings and event details to answer questions.
• Accurately distribute tickets (proof of purchase) to each customer.
• Expedite the traffic flow in a timely fashion.
• Adhere to the dress code; Uniform polo tucked in, black professional pants or shorts, and comfortable sneakers in uniform colors.
• Must be able to work outside in any weather condition (rain, snow, wind, heat, etc.) and be on your feet for extended periods.
• Must be able to work the majority of the event season. Events are scheduled days, nights, weekends, and some Holidays.
• Follow all safety standards.
• Communicate with management, supervisors, and traffic directors.
• Answer customer service questions concerning parking, answer general customer inquiries courteously, professionally, and effectively, and refer questions to the supervisor when applicable.
• Will be expected to take direction from Managers, Supervisors, and emergency responders during emergencies.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Experience

Skills

• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
• Must be able to work unsupervised.
• Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language.
• Must be able to work standing up/on feet for extended periods.

Physical Demands

• Work in the elements -- heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
• Lift, push, and pull at least 15 pounds.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Bend, stoop, squat, and lift frequently throughout a shift.
