Job summary

Florida State Fairgrounds is seeking an Event Services Technician to support all aspects of event operations across our facilities in Tampa, FL. You will assist with setup, teardown, custodial services, equipment movement, and guest services to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for clients, guests, exhibitors, and staff.

The role may involve varying assignments based on events and staffing needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
• Experience in event operations, custodial services, or related industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up, reconfigure, and tear down tables, chairs, staging, and related equipment according to floor plans and schedules.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of buildings, meeting rooms, restrooms, and public areas.
• Read and execute work orders, diagrams, and setup instructions with accuracy.
• Assist exhibitors, vendors, clients, and contractors during move-in/move-out.
• Perform waste management and routine and deep cleaning of facilities.
• Operate department vehicles and equipment safely per training and procedures.
• Inspect facilities and report maintenance or safety issues promptly.
• Support cross-department collaboration to ensure smooth event execution.
