Job summary

Clay County is seeking a part-time Fairgrounds Technician to help maintain barns, arenas, wash racks and other facilities. The role supports event setup and breakdown, assists with equipment, fencing and seating, and helps keep grounds clean and safe for animals and the public.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years’ experience in a park, fairgrounds, entertainment arena or related facility.
• Forklift certification is required for Technician II.
• Target Solutions courses in basic carpentry and plumbing work for troubleshooting or equivalent courses.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean facilities, including barns, stalls, arenas, and wash racks.
• Assist with event setup and breakdown, including equipment, fencing, and seating.
• Operates, maintains and services small-engine equipment, such as mowers.
• Inspect and repair fencing, gates, and stall structures to ensure safety for animals and the public.
