Job summary

The Florida State Fair Authority is seeking a part-time Event Services Technician to support event operations across the Florida State Fairgrounds. You will assist with setup, teardown, facility readiness, custodial tasks, and customer service, ensuring venues are clean, safe, and ready for guests and vendors.

Responsibilities include moving and arranging equipment, maintaining spaces, and coordinating with departments to ensure smooth event execution.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Florida Driver License with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to obtain certification to operate forklifts, aerial lifts, or other equipment as required.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on event schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform event setup, reconfiguration, and teardown of tables, chairs, staging, pipe and drape, barricades, fencing, portable flooring, and other event-related equipment according to floor plans, work orders, and event schedules.
• Maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and operational readiness of buildings, meeting rooms, restrooms, public areas, and event spaces through custodial services and inspections.
• Read and interpret event work orders, floor plans, diagrams, schedules, and setup instructions with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Assist with exhibitor, vendor, client, and contractor move-in/move-out, providing professional customer service throughout the event lifecycle.
• Operate department vehicles and cleaning equipment safely according to training and procedures.
