Job summary

The Florida State Fair Authority in Tampa, Florida seeks a Director of Facilities to lead maintenance, electrical, grounds, and construction for the 330‑acre fairgrounds. This hands‑on leadership role emphasizes safety, preventive maintenance, and operational excellence to keep event spaces ready year‑round.

You will manage the facilities and electrical teams, drive capital projects, and develop high‑performing staff while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
• 6–8 years in facilities management or construction.
• 2+ years in management with budgeting experience.
• Certifications in A/C Refrigeration, EPA, OSHA, Electrical, Plumbing, Welding are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance, electrical, grounds, and construction teams.
• Improve core processes and coordinate with Purchasing on materials.
• Maintain safety compliance and oversee life safety systems.
• Plan and supervise preventive maintenance programs.
• Manage contracts with consultants and inspectors.
• Develop training and staffing plans.
• Lead capital projects and analyze construction needs.
