Job summary

SBR Events Group in Chicago seeks a Staffing Operations Manager to lead the Event Services department, building a unified, engaged workforce through clear leadership, communication, and fair staffing practices.

You will own recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, and scheduling, coordinating with HR and event directors to ensure staffing excellence across all events and venues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Hospitality, Business or related field.
• Minimum five years in staffing, workforce development, hospitality, or event operations.
• At least two years in a supervisory or team-lead capacity.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Experience in high-volume, event-driven hospitality preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach Event Directors, Captains, and staff to deliver consistent staffing and service standards.
• Partner with HR to recruit, hire, onboard, train, and develop a dependable staffing pipeline.
• Monitor staffing levels, forecast needs, and optimize retention and workforce quality.
• Oversee onboarding, training programs, and employee development initiatives.
• Oversee scheduling practices, labor utilization, and event coverage.
• Coach on performance, conduct reviews, and manage corrective actions with HR support.
