Job summary

The Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) is seeking a Public Safety Ambassador to patrol, enforce rules, assist guests, and respond to emergencies at the Birmingham, AL venue. This full-time role emphasizes security, customer service, and accurate reporting.

Responsibilities include crowd control, incident documentation, access verification, radio communication, and collaboration with local law enforcement. Flexible hours are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in security, military or law enforcement, with one (1) year face-to-face customer service experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• Valid State of Alabama Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas in a visible manner and enforce venue rules to protect guests and staff.
• Assist guests by answering questions, provide courteous, professional service.
• Respond to emergencies, accidents and medical incidents, and assist with evacuations as needed.
• Maintain post order compliance and report safety or security concerns.
• Verify credentials and control access to restricted areas.
• Document incidents and daily activity in written reports.
• Maintain open communication with Security Command and Event Management and other partners.
