Teacher? Stay-at-home mom looking for something new? Enjoy working with kids? Like to host and create events? We are seeking someone to support programming at Epworth, particularly our Weed and Water Wednesday program, with opportunities for growth!

Event & Program Manager at Epworth United Methodist Church

This part-time role involves coordinating and supporting programs and events at Epworth United Methodist Church (EUMC), working alongside staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities include supporting volunteers and leaders to ensure smooth program execution.

Education and Experience:
  • BS in Communication, Education, Event Management, Marketing, or a related field, or
  • Associate Degree plus 2 years of relevant experience.
Compensation and Hours:
  • $20/hour; 10-15 hours/week, with potential for increased hours in the future.
  • Mandatory in-office work on Wednesdays from 9am-2pm, with additional work coordinated with staff, volunteers, and events.
Requirements:
  • Commitment to Epworth UMC's mission and vision.
  • Excellent English writing skills; creative writing skills are a plus.
  • Graphic design skills and social media familiarity are desirable.
  • Ability to interact well with preschoolers, children, and caregivers.
  • Background check submission for Safe Gathering training.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Exhibit hospitality, friendliness, and generosity to guests and visitors.
  • Support current children and family programming.
  • Develop and participate in a gardening program for young children, assisting adult leaders.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and maintain communication about weekly needs.
  • Promote upcoming church events.
  • Collaborate with church staff and volunteers to plan and execute hospitality-focused programs.
  • Manage or hire facilitators and volunteers for programs and events.
  • Support facilitators and program leads with logistics such as technology, supplies, and food.
  • Send reminders and follow-up communications, expressing gratitude post-events.
  • Ensure consistent branding across all materials.
  • Coordinate marketing efforts through various channels like newsletters, social media, and websites.
  • Ensure legal compliance regarding copyright and data protection.
  • Maintain confidentiality per church policy.
  • Implement and update technology tools for programming.
  • Manage consultants or temporary staff as needed.
