SEBASS Events is seeking a highly-motivated Production Manager to join our team. This is a salaried, full-time position located in Stamford, CT. Qualified candidates will have the ability to handle all audio, visual, lighting, fabrication and related aspects from pre-production through post-show. The ideal Production Manager will possess a strong ability to manage and communicate effectively, details with clients and crew.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own all technical production aspects for assigned events
  • Communicate effectively with internal staff, clients, vendors, venue staff and similar to ensure event satisfaction and success from pre-production through execution
  • Attend client interactions (meetings, site visits, etc.) to determine technical requirements
  • Consult with internal teams and management to confirm labor and staffing needs
  • Create production paperwork for all disciplines, including drafting plots in Vectorworks
  • Oversee onsite production staff to install, execute and strike event design accurately
  • Maintain knowledge of available technical inventory in the Northeast Warehouse
  • Load and unload trucks in a safe and efficient manner, in the warehouse and in the field
  • Provide technical support to clients, venues, vendors and SEBASS staff
  • Train, assist and mentor onboarding staff on the SEBASS standard of event production
  • Arrive promptly for event call times for setup, strike, show and dismantle needs
  • Be the onsite point of contact for the client to ensure a seamless execution
  • Prioritize building an excellent client relationship by tending to their needs
  • Oversee onsite production staff to install, execute and strike event design accurately
  • Coordinate with venue contact(s), talent management and third party vendors
  • Work with our internal team for any last minute needs/changes, when applicable
  • Confirm post-show feedback and inventory requirements are met:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Working knowledge of entertainment audio, visual, lighting systems, staging, fabrication and electrical power, rigging and weight distribution
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, SEBASS staff, vendors, venue staff, to ensure the coordination of pre-production through to the successful execution of each event
  • Specialization in one or two production disciplines, while maintaining a thorough working knowledge of audio, lighting, fabrication, decor and scenic elements
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time-sensitive details across multiple events
  • Availability and willingness to work extended hours, including nights and weekends
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Warehouse/driving experience, including driving 24’ box trucks (CDL not required)
  • Reliable transportation to and from our office and job sites
  • Ability to comfortably lift up to 50 pounds
  • 3+ years experience with VectorWorks
  • 3+ years of recent events industry experience
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Word and similar softwares
  • Proficiency in RentMan, or willingness to be certified in your first 90 days
  • Willingness to travel 15-20% of the time

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hands-on production/crew management experience in the special events industry or related
  • Comfortable operating heavy equipment, such as boom lifts and forklifts
  • Working knowledge of the New York City and tri-state area event venues, vendors, etc. a plus
