The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is hiring an Event Parking Supervisor to oversee student or third-party staff, assist guests with parking technology, and manage day‑of‑event permits ensuring efficient traffic flow and guest safety.

Required is a high school diploma or equivalent with at least one year of supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

  • Lift up to 50 lbs; walk/stand/sit for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise student or third-party event staff.
  • Assist guests with parking technology.
  • Scan or collect event parking permits.
  • Operate a mobile credit card terminal for Day-of-Event permit sales.
  • Communicate venue regulations to guests.
  • Assist in pedestrian and traffic control.
  • Maintain controlled access to parking facilities.
  • Delivery, set up, collection of parking equipment (cones, signage, barricades).
  • Other duties as assigned.

*Temporary staff employees are ineligible to receive benefits (leave, health coverage, State service credit, etc.). They are, however, covered by Worker’s Compensation provisions.

However, any non-permanent employee hired to work 30 or more hours per week for three months or more (cumulative of all positions, and not designated as variable hour worker), must be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan, within 30 days of their eligibility. Any non-permanent employee hired to work less than 30 hours per week (cumulative of all positions or designated as variable hour worker – i.e. student workers) are measured during designated measurement periods. If they average 30 or more hours per week over a designated measurement period, they will be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan and will be notified of instructions.

*Special Notes Regarding Eligibility for the High Deductible Health Plan
  • Temporary hourly workers (eligibility based on FTE, duration of more than 30 days) FTE .75+ (cumulative of all jobs) or measured full-time, offered the high deductible health insurance
  • Temporary salaried workers (regardless of the FTE, duration of more than 30 days) Reported as full-time & offered the high deductible health insurance

Event Supervisor schedule vary based on needs of the department and availability of events

Shifts are typically available between 4 – 12 hours

Mandatory workdays include, but are not limited to:
  • Move-In
  • Home Football & Basketball Games
  • Fall, Spring, and Summer Commencement
  • CMS Graduation

Pay Rate $20.00

High school diploma or equivalent and a least one year of supervisory experience

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, combined with strong customer service skills are essential.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Familiarity with Google calendar and email
  • Experience in parking and transportation services preferred
  • Must qualify for PCI - DSS training
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Lift up to (50) lbs
  • Walk, stand, and/or sit for extended periods of time
Duties and Responsibilities

Event Parking Supervisor duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise student or third-party event staff
  • Assist guests with parking technology
  • Scan or collect event parking permits
  • Operate a mobile credit card terminal for Day-of-Event permit sales
