Job summary

University of North Carolina Charlotte invites applications for an Event Parking Supervisor Pool to oversee student or third-party staff and coordinate parking operations during events. This is a temporary, part-time position with shifts up to 29 hours per week, including move-in, athletic games, commencements, and other events.

Pay is $20.00 per hour; a high school diploma and at least one year of supervisory experience are required.

  • Ability to work with limited supervision and multi-task in a fast-paced event setting.
  • Familiarity with Google Calendar and email required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise student or third-party event staff.
  • Assist guests with parking technology and permits.
  • Scan or collect event parking permits.
  • Operate a mobile credit card terminal for day-of-event sales.
  • Communicate venue regulations to guests.
  • Assist with pedestrian and traffic control.
  • Maintain access control to parking facilities.

* Temporary staff employees are ineligible to receive benefits (leave, health coverage, State service credit, etc.). They are, however, covered by Worker's Compensation provisions.

However, any non-permanent employee hired to work 30 or more hours per week for three months or more (cumulative of all positions, and not designated as variable hour worker), must be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan, within 30 days of their eligibility. Any non-permanent employee hired to work less than 30 hours per week (cumulative of all positions or designated as variable hour worker - i.e. student workers) are measured during designated measurement periods. If they average 30 or more hours per week over a designated measurement period, they will be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan and will be notified of instructions.

    • Home Football & Basketball Games
    • Fall, Spring, and Summer Commencement
    • CMS Graduation
  • Pay Rate: $20.00
  • Minimum Experience/Education: High school diploma or equivalent and a least one year of supervisory experience
  • Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills, combined with strong customer service skills are essential.
    • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
    • Ability to work with limited supervision
    • Familiarity with Google calendar and email
    • Experience in parking and transportation services preferred
    • Must qualify for PCI-DSS training
    • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
    • Lift up to (50) lbs
    • Walk, stand, and/or sit for extended periods of time
