Job summary

Michaels Otsego, MN is seeking an Event Coordinator to plan and execute children's parties and craft classes within the store. You will engage guests of all ages, guide hands-on activities, and coordinate add-ons while ensuring a friendly checkout and smooth store operations.

In this role you will also handle communications, scheduling, and basic administrative tasks, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and supporting a positive, fun shopping environment for every guest who visits.

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic personality.
• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills.
• Must have organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events at the Michaels store, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and guide participants in craft projects and activities.
• Manage add-ons like goody bags and balloons per company standards.
• Assist customers in locating products and provide solutions for their needs.
• Handle emails, calls, and paperwork as part of event coordination and store operations.
• Ensure events meet client expectations and safety standards; adjust plans as needed.
