Job summary

Catering By Design, a division of Compass Group USA, in Denver, seeks an experienced Event Designer & Producer to translate client concepts into executable designs and oversee décor production from concept through completion.

You will partner with Sales, Creative, Floral, Culinary, and Operations to develop mood boards, rental concepts, and production plans, then manage onsite to ensure the vision is realized on budget and schedule.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in event design, event production, experiential events, hospitality, décor, rentals, or related field.
• Strong understanding of both creative and logistical components of event production.
• Experience creating mood boards, event design presentations, or similar visual concepts.
• Strong visual design skills with understanding of color, scale, texture, space planning, and styling.
• Experience with rental furniture, floral design, tabletop, décor, or event installations preferred.
• Strong management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Canva and event management or rental software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop creative concepts based on client goals, venue, budget, and aesthetic.
• Create mood boards, design decks, and visual presentations for concepts.
• Develop custom station and buffet concepts and select décor and styling elements.
• Coordinate with florists for floral direction and cohesive styling plans.
• Lead production plans, rental requirements, staffing, timelines, and onsite logistics.
• Oversee onsite décor installations and direct event staff to ensure design accuracy.
• Collaborate with Sales, Floral and Culinary teams to ensure feasibility and pricing.
• Participate in meetings, site visits, and production reviews as needed.
