Job summary

The BBQ Pit in San Jose, CA is seeking a Catering Manager to execute catering across our family of BBQ restaurants. You will lead and grow our catering and events offerings, promote services, and manage multiple orders from inquiry to event day.

You will coordinate staffing, control labor and food costs, and expand revenue through targeted marketing and vendor relations. This role requires hospitality experience and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience working in the hospitality industry.
• BS in Hospitality preferred.
• Valid Driver's License and good DMV record.
• Catering or event management experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and package catering offerings for our restaurants.
• Market catering packages to generate a significant new revenue stream.
• Develop and maintain a catering and event planning service for customers.

Catering Manager

Responsible for executing catering at all restaurants in our family of BBQ restaurants. The Event Coordinator is expected to lead and organize catering events that will make a significant impact on growing our business.

Our Event Coordinator will promote, book and organize the catering offerings of our restaurants. This position requires an enthusiastic individual with the organizational skills to manage several catering orders and the marketing skills to significantly grow our business.

Key Responsibilities:

Catering Sales:

• Define and package our catering offerings
• Market our catering packages to bring in a significant new revenue stream
• Develop and maintain a catering and event planning service to customers
• Actively seek out new customers and vendors
• Network with industry professionals and build working relationships with event facilities

Catering Management:

• Serve as primary point of contact for all catering orders from initial inquiry through the day of the event for final questions
• Coordinate staffing for catering events
• Ensure successful operations of catering functions including labor cost, food cost control and preparation, transportation, setup, and operation of events

Salary & Benefits:

• $72,000 - $77,000 base salary
