Job summary

Matrix Model Staffing is seeking an experienced Event Captain to lead teams and ensure flawless execution across major markets in the US. This on-site role requires strong leadership, client management, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, luxury-event environments.

You will supervise staff, coordinate with clients, and ensure polished guest experiences at each event location. Availability to travel locally and weekends/holidays is expected.

Our Event Captains are the leaders behind the scenes: managing teams, maintaining client communication, ensuring flawless execution, and creating a polished guest experience from start to finish.

We’re looking for professionals who:

• Have prior event, hospitality, or experiential leadership experience
• Are confident managing staff and client relationships onsite
• Thrive in fast-paced environments
• Lead with professionalism, composure, and attention to detail
• Have a passion for luxury hospitality and premium events

Matrix staffs some of the world’s leading brands, fashion events, corporate gatherings, galas, product launches, and experiential activations. If you have strong leadership skills and a talent for creating seamless experiences, we would love to hear from you.

Skills required:

• Leadership skills, including team supervision, schedule management, and real-time issue resolution.
• Customer service and client-facing skills, with the ability to represent brands professionally and maintain positive interactions with attendees and stakeholders.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to brief event staff, document event outcomes, and follow client instructions accurately.
• Organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and capability to handle multiple events and priorities.
• Comfort with basic technology tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, event management apps) to manage rosters, reports, and communication.
• Previous experience in events, promotions, hospitality, or brand ambassador roles is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, and to travel locally to event locations in and around Carlsbad, CA.
• Dependable transportation, professional appearance, and the ability to stand or move for extended periods during events.
