Job summary

The Garces Group is seeking an Event Butler in Philadelphia, PA to provide exceptional hospitality from arrival to departure. You will contribute to a seamless event flow, assist with service, and maintain a safe, professional environment throughout each function.

Ideal candidates have 2-3 years in catering or banquet front-of-house, strong customer service, and the ability to adapt to diverse guests. Training is available, and the role requires availability for nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years catering/banquet front-of-house preferred but training available.
• Exceptional customer service with attention to detail and strong communication.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team under deadline pressure.
• Must be able to walk, bend, lift and push up to 25 lbs., and work nights/weekends.
• Comfort with diverse guests and sensitivity to different cultures.

Responsibilities

• Provides hospitality to guests from start to end of the event.
• Maintains a safe work environment throughout the event.
• Sets up, serves, and breaks down event spaces as directed.
• Participates in staff pre-meal briefing for each event.
• Keeps a high level of professionalism, energy and positive attitude.
• Maintains knowledge of all menu items.
• Communicates questions, complaints or special requests to the Event Floor Captain.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides exceptional hospitality to guests from beginning to end of event
• Maintains a safe work environment throughout the event, focusing constantly on the safety of guests and employees
• Sets up, serves, and breaks down each event as directed by the Captain
• Participates in staff “pre-meal” meeting prior to each event
• Maintains a high level of professionalism, energy and a positive attitude
• Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of all menu items
• Communicates any questions, complaints or special requests to the Event Floor Captain

Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 2-3 years of catering/banquet front-of-the-house experience preferred but not required. We will train the right candidate.
• Exceptional customer service, attention to detail, organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and cohesively as part of a team
• Prioritize, manage and follow through on multiple tasks with frequent interruptions and under deadline pressure
• Ability to communicate with highly diverse group of people and exhibit sensitivity to cultural differences
• Able to perform the physical demands of the job which include: continuous walking at a rapid pace, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling (25 lbs. +)
• Ability to work a flexible schedule which include nights and weekends
