Job summary

Fitler Club is hiring a Banquet House Attendant to handle setup and breakdown of banquet events, ensure cleanliness and organization of banquet spaces, and assist in servicing meeting rooms. The role requires handling equipment, coordinating with staff, and maintaining safety and guest readiness.

Responsibilities include following BEO details, managing inventory, and maintaining a positive, professional demeanor in a fast-paced hospitality environment at our Philadelphia location.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as a houseman in catering, hotel, or club banquet environment.
• Must possess positive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
• Occasional outdoor work; ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle delicate items.

Responsibilities

• Set up and breakdown of banquet events per BEO details and diagrams.
• Maintain cleanliness of banquet areas, storage, and service spaces.
• Set up basic audio-visual equipment and replenish meeting amenities as needed.
• Work with management and staff to address guest needs and ensure safety and security.

Overview

The Banquet House Attendant is responsible for completing the set-up and break-down of banquet events in a safe and efficient manner. Other responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness and organization of any banquet room, hallways, storage, and service areas. The Banquet Houseman must routinely perform inventory checks and care for banquet supplies such as linens, chairs, china, glassware, flatware, and decorations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for complete setup and breakdown of all events, following all specified BEO details, event diagrams including but not limited to tables, chairs, portable bars, stations, buffets, etc.
• Cleaning of floors, walls, windows, and other surfaces; proper care, movement, and storage of equipment including tables, chairs, stage, and lecterns as required, maintaining guest readiness
• Set up basic audio-visual equipment
• Properly control and store meeting room supplies such as linens, pads, pens/pencils, and meeting amenities as required
• Assist in servicing meeting rooms by removing trash, clearing dirty plates, cups, glasses, and/or linens, straightening chairs, and replenishing water as specified or requested
• Maintain all equipment, tools, and supplies while following all procedures and policies set forth by the company, division, department, and county health department
• Work as a team and effectively communicate with management and service staff to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other team members
• Communicate any equipment problems with management
• Attend pre and post function meetings as requested

Qualifications

• Must possess positive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure
• Most work tasks are performed indoors, however, some work outdoors will be required
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks and physically able to lift and carry heavy equipment up to 50lbs as well as delicate china and glassware
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
• Punctuality and reliable attendance
• Must be dependable and available to work within the club on weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands
• Must have a positive attitude, be self-motivated, polite, and energetic
