Job summary

Highlands College seeks a Circulation Lead to oversee library operations during evenings and weekends in the HC Library. You will coordinate services, support Student Assistants, and collaborate with the Librarian to serve students and staff.

Responsibilities include managing the circulation desk, shelving, ILL, cataloging basics, and patron assistance, while promoting resources and upholding library policies.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead student assistants and staff.
• Proficiency with library systems and catalogs.

Responsibilities

• Staff the circulation desk and provide library services using the library system (WMS).
• Close the Library three nights per week and ensure security and reset.
• Lead Student Assistants in the Librarian's absence.
• Schedule and train Student Assistants with Librarian coordination.
• Check books and materials in/out and respond to circulation inquiries.
• Assist with collection management, ILL, and basic cataloging.
• Assist patrons with access to physical collections and online resources.
• Refer complex questions to the Librarian and report statistics.
• Promote library resources and assist with donated resources.
