Job summary

George Mason University is seeking a Part-Time Event Production Coordinator to manage setup, operation, and breakdown of event equipment at the Mason Square campus in Arlington, VA. This role also serves as an onsite shift supervisor for event staff.

The position requires a high school diploma, solid AV knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Benefits for part-time staff are offered as described.

Qualifications

• Must be a high school graduate.
• Understanding of audio/visual equipment used to support events and multimedia applications, including streaming platforms, and a willingness to learn new skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills for diverse audiences, including faculty, staff and guests.
• Strong customer service, time management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Must have excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must be able to safely move items up to 50 pounds and work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Audio Visual Manager with setup and support of all A/V systems, including live streaming.
• Responds to and troubleshoots technical issues and provides user support during events.
• Verifies equipment requests match the set-up report and arranges tables, chairs, and AV gear accordingly.
• Keeps storerooms organized and ensures aisles and equipment areas are clear.
• Supports the Event Manager with program needs and notes maintenance issues for follow-up.
