Job summary

George Mason University is seeking an Event Services and Production Supervisor to lead on-site event production and manage A/V resources at Mason Square. You will supervise up to 15 staff, coordinate with Event Managers, and ensure high-profile events run smoothly.

You will develop training materials, support recruitment, and deliver excellent service. Flexible shifts may be required to meet event demand and ensure quality delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience recruiting, developing effective training programs for staff, directing, and supervising staff.
• Experience working in all areas of event operations/support/technology.
• Experience in planning and implementing events.
• Knowledge in event operations and proper configuration of technical equipment for successful operation.
• Ability to recruit, train, and provide on-site supervision of part-time and student wage staff.

Responsibilities

• Provides high-quality production services in support of events by overseeing the execution of transportation, setup, operation, and breakdown of portable technical and non-technical equipment as requested.
• Serves as the primary supervisor and/or technician on-site for high-profile and major events.
• Responds with appropriate urgency, flexibility, courtesy, and good judgment to meet customer needs and resolve issues.
• Provides prompt and responsive evaluation of issues that may arise, evaluates impact on service, and communicates a strategy for resolution.
• Works with Event Managers to advise clients on A/V capabilities and options to support events.
