George Mason University, Mason Square campus in Arlington, VA, is seeking a Part-Time Event Production Coordinator to handle setup, operation, and breakdown of technical and non-technical equipment for events. The role also serves as an on-site shift supervisor to guide event staff.

The position requires a high school diploma, knowledge of A/V systems, and strong customer service and communication skills. Lifting up to 50 pounds and flexible scheduling including evenings/weekends are expected.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma and familiarity with audio/visual equipment used to support events.
• Strong customer service, time management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Audio Visual Manager by having knowledge of A/V systems in Van Metre Hall, including setup and support of live streaming platforms.
• Responds to and troubleshoots technical issues and provides user support during events as needed.
• Verifies equipment requests match the set-up report and arranges tables, chairs and A/V gear per reservations.
• Maintains storerooms order and keeps aisles and equipment areas clear.
• Assists the Event Manager with program needs and enforces responsibilities of Mason Square Arlington.
• Identifies maintenance discrepancies and reports them to the Event Manager.
