Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative in Virginia Beach, VA. You will register patients, verify identity and insurance, schedule services, and enter demographic information into the EHR, while explaining regulatory documents and ensuring privacy compliance.

Additionally, you may assist with scheduling, pre-admission and discharge duties, greeting patients and families, and providing waiting room updates. A HS diploma and strong customer service/data entry skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or equivalent required.
• 2 years of Customer Service and/or Data Entry experience, or bachelor’s degree in lieu of two years’ experience.
• Proficiency in Keyboarding and data entry processes.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify identity and correct record.
• Review schedules and orders to register for the appropriate service.
• Explain and collect co-payments and balances; enter demographic/insurance data in the EHR.
