Job summary

The Salvation Army - Evangeline's House in Spokane, WA is seeking a FT Lead Program Operations Specialist to oversee youth programs in the evening shift (2:00 PM–10:30 PM, Sunday–Thursday). Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of experience working with youth.
• Pass Criminal Background Check.
• Pass a DSHS Background Check.
• CPR/First Aid training.
• De-escalation and restraint training.
• Valid Driver’s License with clear driving record.
• Successfully complete TSA Driver Training.
• Capable of interacting with children in care.
• Ability to work with challenging youth behaviors.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• High personal standards of cleanliness and thoroughness.
• Available to be on-call to cover other shifts during the week; some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Attend monthly staff meetings & trainings.
• Supervise Program Operations Specialists during assigned shifts.
• Training Tracts – required readings & reports for one year.
• Work well within a team.
• Communicate program needs & client needs to supervisors.
• Directly supervise youth in care.
• Communicate with professional agencies and administration.
• Lead daily activities including meals, sports, tutoring and field trips.
• Follow posted schedules unless directed otherwise by a supervisor.
• Document client daily activities.
• Model appropriate social behaviors for youth in care.
• Assist youth in meeting physical needs.
• Follow Child Safety policies and HIPAA/WAC guidelines.
• Implement behavior management (de-escalation and restraint).
• Comply with youth disciplinary guidelines.
• Offer guidance to youth as needed.
• Clean the facility when needed.
• Do laundry when needed.
• Assist with snow removal when necessary.
• Serve food to youth and provide snacks.
• Maintain facility security and report concerns.
• Develop positive relationships with coworkers.
• Accompany youth to appointments as needed.
• Be the shift expert on intakes and discharges.
• Communicate with program manager and DCYF social workers.
• Fill out shift logs.
• Provide training for Program Operations Specialists.
• All other duties as assigned
