Job summary

Avamere at Park Place in Portland, OR is seeking a Server for memory care, assisted living, and independent living facilities. The role focuses on delivering excellent dining service, taking orders, serving meals, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for residents and guests.

The position requires evening and weekend availability and offers part-time hours in a senior living environment with opportunities to contribute to residents’ dining experiences.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of high standards of food service sanitation and safety.
• Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene.
• Interpersonal skills to work with residents and staff.
• Ability to learn to operate kitchen equipment.
• CPR/First Aid certification during employment.
• Active Food Handlers card from local Health Department.
• Knowledge of dietary practices and related laws for hospital/nursing home operations.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Create an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and calm.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver meal and beverage orders for residents.
• Deliver food/beverages promptly and attractively.
• Provide attentive and friendly service and anticipate residents' needs.
• Set up dining room and maintain cleanliness during service.
• Clear and reset tables after meals.
• Take and deliver room service orders to residents’ apartments.
• Know the menu and dietary needs to answer questions.
• Interact with residents and guests in a professional manner.
• Follow food safety and hygiene procedures.
• Collaborate with wait staff and kitchen staff for smooth service.
• Dispose of food and waste per policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
