Job summary

The Egan Library at the University of Alaska Southeast is seeking a part-time reference librarian to cover evening and weekend desk shifts. The role involves reference services and guidance, as well as assisting with collection development and creating instructional materials for diverse users on campus and in the community.

Candidates should have knowledge of research methods, library databases, and catalog systems; be able to learn new technologies; and deliver excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with experience in a library or similar setting is required for Grade 78.
• MLS/MLIS in library/information studies is required for Grade 80.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference services and specialized research guidance for students, staff, and public users.
• Participate in collection development and evaluation of current resources.
